If you are a Classical Indian Dancer and interested in performing for Yuva Bharati please get in touch with us. So far we have hosted Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Mohiniattam and Odissi performances. The application deadline for 2014 performers is June 30, 2013. Yuva Bharati makes decision on applications and emails the acceptance letters by December 31st , 2013.

Application process is as follows. You need to send

• Filled in questionnaire, (via email only, paper copy is not acceptable)
• A digital picture in dance costume (via email only, paper copy is not acceptable)
• Video clipping of recent performance. (preferably not more than a year old) Note: We prefer that you provide a weblink to your dance video. Length of the video must be not more than 10 minutes. It must be a solo performance of the applicant.

Here are a few things we are looking for in the applicants

• You are a Classical Indian Dancer.
• You have completed full lengthed solo debut performance.
• You are continuing to learn the danceform.
• You are a member of Yuva Bharati.

Here are a few criteria used in selection of candidates.

• Artist's mastery over the art form
  • Abhinaya
  • Precision in pure dance execution
  • Stage presence and presentation
  • Level of maturity in handling the pieces rendered
• Priority for local artists
• Widespread representation of dance schools and dance forms
• Overall value the concert brings to YB members/audiences

Yuva Bharati receives more applications than the number of available slots in an year. If you are not selected in a certain year, we encourage you to re-apply with an updated video clipping.
